How Many Categories Of Business-to-business Advertisements Are There?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Being a specific type of advertising itself, business-to-business advertising has further set of sub-categories, which is inclusive of industrial advertising, government advertising, trade advertising, professional advertising and agricultural advertising.

Industrial advertising is the first type of business-to-business advertising that is targeted at original equipment manufacturers or more precisely OEMs.  Examples of such manufacturers include General Motors and IBM.  As for government advertising, this type of business-to-business advertising is done on specific level such as the federal, state or district levels.  One of the most suitable ways to affect government buying decisions is through corporate image advertising.

Then comes trade advertising, which is specifically meant for stakeholders like resellers, wholesalers and retailers (more exclusively the channel members) on behalf of the manufacturer company. The target market of professional advertising is mostly inclusive of white-collared professionals like business executives, doctors and laywers.  Regarding agricultural advertising, it is targeted at farmers and offers products like animal health products, seeds, farm machinery, crop dusting and other farm equipment.
