I will be performing a debate to the rest of the class about which disaster is worse. Floods or Droughts?

    Natural disasters whether it be Floods or Droughts have equal devastating impact on people. We can not compare the effects of the two. Flooding can cause loss of lives of both animals and humans, damage to homes, business and key infrastructure whereas drought can also cause loss of lives and stock, destruction of crops etc. But keeping in view the country Australia, floods are considered as the deadliest form of disaster which results in a loss of around 4 million dollars per year.       In 2002 and early 2003, Australia faced worst drought in history. Where as the scientists also claimed that the drought during 2006 was the worst drought in 1000 years. For more details about these droughts, visit the following links.

        The summer of 2006 was supposedly the worst drought in 1000 years, but scientists say it would be hard to prove being that long ago
