Why Do The Global Warming Hoaxers Have Any Credibility Left?

Let me say this about that.  A new book on environmental policy, Blue Planet in Green Shackles by Václav Klaus, President of the Czech Republic,makes the case that policies being proposed to address global warming are not justified by current science and are, in fact, a dangerous threat to freedom and prosperity around the world.  Kraus goes on to say "The largest threat to freedom, democracy, the market economy, and prosperity at the end of the 20th and at the beginning of the 21st century is no longer socialism, It is, instead, the ambitious, arrogant, unscrupulous ideology of environmentalism."  Rush Limbaugh would say, "Unscrupulous liberal agenda to undermine conservative views on less government and more freedom for industry and business".  As for me, I am still reading all the many scientist who sincerely believe that we are in trouble and need to heed the warnings.  I really do not know. What I do know, it is a political football and it definitely serves the liberal point of view.

Green is the current "big" thing. Is an easy train to jump aboard and allows much judgemental action in addition to all the money there is to be made, ethanol anyone? I'm greener than you, my country is greener than yours, etc. Just think if a much more pressing issue was the latest big thing. World hunger for instance; I'm skinnier than you, my country consumes less calories per capita than yours, we're better because we eat less than you.

It's really all about money if you got it flaunt it. However, with global warming there's always something to talk about or money to be made. It's something that will impact people if nothing else does that we live on earth and lets keep it clean and healthy however ever major street your passing by their knocking down trees and fixing streets that don't need fixing.Bogus.

My guess would be because most of realize that it's real.  And bickle, please don't try to bait me anymore.  I don't appreciate it and I don't do it to you.  I find it extremely offensive and rude.  It is very distressing to me to see (and read) otherwise sensible and decent people being duped into believing that everything is A-OK and that those of us concerned about the well being of this planet are incited by greed, when precisely the opposite is true.

Bickle, The reason the "Hoaxers" still hap a grip on society, is that though the science no longer supports "global warming" it is an undeniable fact that human activity has a lasting and measurable affect upon ones local environment. I site both the Las Angeles Valley and the Hudson river as examples of my point. These "Hoaxers" are taking this concept and extrapolating it outward until it sounds like "global Warming". So as a result the lemmings that make up most of "intelligent" society are fooled into believing what the "Green Extremists" and Hybrid makers are selling. Pretty much just simple marketing strategy, it's all about making money.

Why did you answer your own question? Let's see. Rain forest humidity..down. Polar ice caps.. Melting. Shorelines.. Disappearing. Temperature changes.. Drastic. I thought that a conspiracy was based on no true actual facts?

Hi, Bickle! As you've said, the jeeps and tricycles here in the Philippines could barely feel the impact of global warming. And so do most Filipinos including myself. If at all, I am certain that those you call "hoax" have successfully launched an excellent marketing campaign to create such hysteria. They did not go wrong on banking on the words "green", "environment-friendly", and such other global-warming-related terms which have positive connotations in the minds of people worldwide.

Hence, because of such huge success, global cooling seems to pale in comparison to global warming. But don't lose hope. Sites like blurtit and people like you who have genuine concern for the human kind should keep on disseminating useful information. As for me, I am beginning to keep myself involved and I promise to help. Thank your Filipina wife, huh!

By the way, it rained in my place this afternoon - unusual heavy rain with ice bits on it...

Money Money and more Money that's what I think but the media I think also is to blame they only tell you what the environmentalist wants you to know so that way some people fall for it hook line and sinker

It sounds to me like you've all been brainwashed by corporate, capitalist America trying to get away with suffocating the earth. How on earth can anyone say that a few years of lower temperatures, can erase over 100 years of a clear warming trend. You just can't.

In spite of Shifty37's hysterics, global temperatures have been much higher during the last 5000 years.  And oddly enough... CO2 increases have always followed temperature increases, rather than preceding them, as a result of ocean outgassing as it warms up.

Because it's not a hoax and people who pay attention know this and are worried about what might happen  they are the ones who really care about the world around them
