Japenese are famous for their traditional dances all around the world. The two types of dances which are quite popular in Japanese culture are Odori and Mai. Odori emerged in the period of Edo and resembles kabuki which is another famous tradition in Japenese culture in the form of drama. Odori is famous among males because it is more touchy and sentimental for men and is usually performed at the stage. Mai is performed in the rooms and has various variations such as kyomai, kyoto etc. Other traditional Japenese dances include kabuki, Noh Mai, Bon Odori, Nihon Buyo etc. A newer trend is emerging which amalgamates rock beats with the traditional dance and is known as So-ran Bushi.
