What Would Be The First Thunder Or Lightning?why?

    Actually, I believe they happen at the same time. You just see the lightning before you hear the thunder because the speed of light is faster than the speed of sound.

      Lightening.
      Light travels faster than sound. Light travels at 3.0 x 10^8  meters per second vs. Sound at 340 meters per second. You can actually calculate the distance of a thunderstorm from where you are, using the time you see the flash of lightening to the moment you hear the clap of thunder. For every 3 seconds in between, represents the center of the storm is 1 km away.
      For example, 15 seconds in between would mean the lightning was 5 kilometers away
