Which Aesop's Fable Is Like A Dark Version Of "The Sleeping Beauty"?

Answer Question

The fable of "The Prince and the Painted Lion" has many similarities with this famous fairy tale, but is about a prince rather than a princess. A king had a dream that his son would be killed by a lion. So he brought him up in a tower inside a large walled garden, and never let him go outside. No wild animals were allowed in the garden, but the walls were painted with life-size pictures of them to entertain the prince.

One day the prince, now almost grown up, was filled with anger at the way he was kept locked up. He looked at the big picture of the lion on the garden wall, and was suddenly furious with the animal. He seized a branch of a nearby tree, meaning to use it as a stick to beat the painted lion. But a thorn from the branch pricked him; the wound became infected and he died.
