Where Is Little Ben?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Little Ben basically is a cast iron miniature clock tower, positioned at the junction of Vauxhall bridge Road and Victoria street, in Westminster, central London near the Victoria station.

Little Ben was produced, according to Pevser, by Gillett & Johnson of Croydon. It was inaugurated in the year 1892, removed from this site in the year 1964 and rebuilt in the year 1981 by Westminster City Council. The construction of the clock tower was funded bye Elf Aquintaine Ltd as a gesture of Franco-British friendship.

Strangely for clocks in Britain, the time of Little Ben has been set one hour early of Greenwich Mean Time, all through the year. During the summer season it overlaps with the British Summer Time, where as in the winter its time is same as the Central European Time.
