    Heart diseases also known as cardiovascular diseases refer to the group of diseases which engage the heart and other blood vessels. Cardiovascular diseases can generally take numerous forms like, high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, stroke, etc.

    Cardiovascular diseases cause approximately 12 million deaths all across the world. One of the primary causes of heart disease is stress, along with obesity, high blood pressure, tobacco smoking, alcohol consumption, etc. Nearly all Western countries face high and growing rates of cardiovascular diseases.

    Cardiovascular diseases are generally treated by cardiologist, thoracic surgeons, vascular surgeons, neurologist along with interventional radiologist normally depending on the organ classification which is being treated.

    Even though men have a higher rate of cardiovascular diseases in comparison to females, it is said to be the primary health problem for women in industrialized nations.
