My dog is properly vaccinated but still got sick. Should I inform the owner of the kennel?

I am sure you are frustrated your dog has kennel cough.  Unfortunately the vaccine for kennel cough is not 100% effective.  In most dogs it prevents infection and in others it limits the severity of the clinical signs.  Group environments like kennels, dog parks, shelters, and some veterinary clinics often harbor kennel cough.  When dogs are at the kennel they experience a certain amount of stress, this decreases the immune system and makes dog's vulnerable to infectious disease.
The kennel cough vaccine is also only against Bordetella bronchiseptica and there are other pathogens that can cause upper respiratory infections in dogs.
I would contact the owner of the kennel to inform them your dog contracted kennel cough.  You can ask if they will pay the bill although I do not think they will.

Well a lot of dogs get kennel cough after being in a kennel and it isn't necessarily being sick it is just from barking a lot while they were in there. They probably barked nonstop while he you were away. It will go away with some time. It is just something that happens.

It is not from barking to much it is from improperly cleaned kennels and yes I would inform the owner and I would give them the vet bill as well.
en.wikipedia.org has lots of info on kennel cough.

Kids come home from the hospital with diaper rash and other problems. If your the parent it is your problem as stuff happens and is part of parenthood just as it is part of dog ownership.
