What Does Slip Mean In Cricket?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Slip in terms of cricket is a position of a fielder. This position is placed fairly close to the batsman in the off side. The use of keeping a slip is that if a catch is missed from the wicket keeper who has come as an edged ball, slip can easily take such catches.

Many times there are two or three slips, which depend on the type of player of the opponent team. There is at times a floating slip also employed with the perspective patrolling an area in the slip cordons distance.
