What Could Possible Side Effects Of Taking Outdated Liquid Cough Medicine Be?

Could it cause the effects to be stronger (like if it causes drowsiness)? Or What? And if the label says expires 02/08 I'm assuming that means Feb 2008 but does that mean its not good Feb 1st or No good March 1st?

I wouldn't take it at all. Just throw it out. I have some outdated in my cabinet that needs to go. I hang on to it because it was expensive. I know I will never take it because it's outdated. Meds can turn into poisen...Let's both just throw it out :~)

The expiration date of medication would be the final day of that month unless otherwise specified---if the medication date is past i would throw out the medication---expired medicines lose strength and potency---liquid medications usually lose potency faster than solids--conditions are also important---most medications need cool dark dry environment---heat light moisture and humidity can damage medication
