    Carole King wrote a song named 'You've Got a Friend" which was written in 1970 and appeared on her 1971 album 'Tapestry'. In that same year, James Taylor sung that song which appeared on his album 'Mud Slide Slim and the Blue Horizon'. The song became a hit in that year by gaining the first position in the Billboard Top 100 chart on July 31, 1971. James Taylor won the Grammy Award as the Best Pop Vocal Performance by a male in that year for that song. Carole King won a Grammy Award as well for the Song of the Year. Many other famous artists have also covered this song such as Tom Jones, Jimmy Cliff, Cliff Richard, Barbra Striesand and many other artists.
