What Is Ad Space On The Internet?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Ad space refers to the space on a web page that is sold to advertisers. In fact the majority of Google's revenues come from ad space marketing. They have the potential to sell ad space on the basis of key words. E.g. any key word that you type in Google will throw up a bunch of links, it will also throw up links that have been paid for by advertisers. Google has various payment models. According to one of them, every time you click on an advertised link, the advertiser will have to pay Google.

Selling ad space is the most common revenue model on the Internet. Web sites try their best to attract eyeballs. Once these eyeballs begin to stick, (they begin to visit the site over and over again), the website is in a position to go out and sell its ad space to other companies. Sometimes in peer to peer arrangements ad space is not sold but exchanged, two websites might put up ads on each others sites.
