Paul di'Anno was the first vocalist of the band and he was also a founder member of Maiden. Paul played for Maiden from their very first release, that was "Iron Maiden" in 1980. He also made his appearance in their next number, which was "Killers" released in 1981.

Bruce Dickinson was introduced in 1982, with the album "the Number of the Beast", in place of Paul di'Anno. From "the Number of the Beast", Bruce appeared in "Piece of mind" released in 1983, Power Slave (1984), Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (1988), No Prayer for the Dying (1990) and Fear of the Dark, released in 1992.

Blaze Bayley was introduced with the album "the X  factor" in 1995. He also played with Maiden in their next, called "virtual XI" released in 1998.

Bruce re-entered in the band with the album, "Brave New World" in 2000 and since their last release "a Matter of Life and Death", he is the lead vocalist of Maiden.
