Woodrow Wilson was a U.S. president who was born in 1856 and passed away in 1924.
He was the son of an extremely handsome Presbyterian minister. However, Woodrow was a homely boy with a long drawn face, big ears, and a thrusting jaw. In addition, at age eight, he was forced to wear eyeglasses. Woodrow Wilson once told his cousin that if he had his father's looks, no one would ever care about what he said or what he did. As a child, he often recited the limerick: "For beauty, I am not a star, there are others more handsome by far, But my face, I do not mind it, you see, I am behind it, it is the people in front that I jar." Even after he became the twenty-eighth president of the United States, Woodrow Wilson was somewhat camera-shy. So, is appearance is why he was always teased as a young boy.
