Every place is different, you can get a loan with bad credit it probably wont be a "good" loan. It will be a much higher interest rate. I would say in the high 500's you could still get a loan any lower than that would be very hard. Remember the lower your credit rating the higher your interest rate will be. Many places want loans so they will loan to people with a low credit score because they will make more money on them and they have recourse if its a secured loan, meaning if you don't pay they can take your car, house whatever the loan was for. You probably wouldn't be able to get a personal unsecured loan with bad credit. You have to have something to back it.

Look..it depends upon what amount of auto loan you required.

If you are in need of say big amount of money then you should have good credit for that amount of loan.

But there are few Auto Loan firms, which are providing auto loan even if you are having poor credit score or damaged credit or say past bankruptcy. These auto loan firms are specially designed auto loan plans for these kind of people.

You can always refer Nationwide Auto Lending for further details on  various Auto/Car Loan plans.
