Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The Quakers as such arrived in Ireland in th C17. They were known as the Society of Friends. The records they kept were well ordered and systematic, they remain well documented tothe present day. The Quakers kept records of all births, marriage and deaths of everymember and still do.
They did not have Prish Registers as we know them however each local weekly or momthly meeting recoded any life event of the members.

    Monthly Meetings were held in:
Antrim, Ballyhagan, Carlow, Cootehill, Cork, Dublin. Endenderry, Grange, Lisbur, Limerick, Lurgan, Moate, Mountmellick, Richill, Tipperary, Waterford, Wexford, and Wicklow. All records apart from those of Antrim and Cootehill are complete.

The records show individuals and sponsors and witnesses.

The Church of the Latterday Saints has microfilm of the records of the Friends Library of Dublin.
