Genesis is the first book in the Bible and the first chapters of the book describes CREATION of the heaven, earth, sun, moon, all creatures and animals, man, and woman. This 'theory' of creation is believed by Christians to be inspired by God Himself to the writer, whom they believe is Moses. During the 20th century, great conflict developed by the believers and Darwin's theory of EVOLUTION that science also works to prove through archaeological finds, biology, and speculation that ties all findings and ideas of scientists.
Genesis says that God created the heavens and the earth after finding that the earth was without form. Scientists say the universe began with The Big Bang somewhere in space then the formation of the planets and the earth came into being over millions of years. Genesis says that the spirit of God 'spoke creation' into becoming as it is today.
Genesis says that the creatures of the earth were spoken into being by the Spirit of God. Scientists say that all creatures began from the tiniest water speck to the creatures moving from water to develop into creatures and animals of the earth.
Genesis says that God spoke a man, he named Adam, into being then put him to sleep and took a rib from him to create a woman as his companion---Adam named her Eve. Scientists say from their research that as creatures EVOLVED eventually there was a monkey or similar creature that developed into a human that walked upright and eventually developed as present humans, men and women, are.
