    Independence Day (7th September), New years celebrations and religious festivals are quite popular in Brazil. In the New Year's celebration, people gather on the 31st December night to wait for the new year. Various religious carnivals such as Salvador (celebrated in third Thursday of January), another celebration for goddess of sea on 2nd February, All souls day (celebrated on 2nd November), Bumba-meu-boi (a cultural festival which is celebrated for many months), Soldier's day (on 25th August), Labor day and Christmas day are the main events celebrated in Brazil.
