Google is much more intuitive and they offer many more free services (ie - gmail, adsense, analytics, etc...).

Also because it is worth way more,which is $1.5 billion as of july 8th,2009.
Google also offers images as does ask but a more comprehensive search as said before.
Google offers better map capabilities and has google earth.
It is better optimized for mobile devices than ask is.
