Spoonful usually means a small quantity or maximum that a spoon can hold. Spoonful is also the name of a well known music album penned by William Dixon and is based on Charley Patton's "Spoonful Blues".
It is usually linked with Howlin' Wolf, Dixon's age old collaborator, who initially recorded the song in the year 1960, and afterwards inducted the track in his 1962 album "Rocking Chair'. Cream was an age old champion of "spoonful". The band initially covered the track on their debut album released in the year 1966 with the title, Fresh Cream.
The track has also been recorded by many other artists and bands like Etta James, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Canned Heat, the Allman Joys, Ten Years After and The Who.
