In Taoism, Is It Wise To Try Changing Our Current Life Path If We Disagree With The Obvious Outcome?

I am on a certain course that I find myself to be discontent with. However there are certain forces that I do not fully understand, I speak of love and compatibility. Do I stay, or attempt to alter what can surely be the end result? How does one know?

In Taoism you must accept that what is before you  each day is a lesson for you to learn.  If you do not learn it or gain new insight from it, it will appear over and over in different forms until you reach a higher plane of understanding.  Then you will have a different scenario.  You can always change your course.  You change it by accepting it and learning from it.  Then you move on to a new course.

It's been sometime since I studied Taoism, though I recall something that might serve as a reminder or help. ( in plain english)

Until what you seek is within you...you will not find it outside of you. Stay or go...doesn't matter, do the work within.
