    I Have A Retirement Through Past Employer & Cannot Have Access To Money Until I Turn 65. Son Needs Money And Cannot Get A Loan Due To Bad Credit I Am In Same Position. Can I Borrow Against Retirement Account Sooner?

    I have a retirement account through a past employer and cannot have access to that money until I turn 65. My son is in need of money and cannot get a loan due to bad credit - I am in the same position. Is there a way to borrow against that retirment account sooner?

    I have 401k. I could borrow from it and choose when to pay it back. As long as it's paid back on time there is no fee. You should probably get a hold of your policy holder to see if they do the same thing.
