Had Isaac Asimov Ever Had Any Association With A Band Member Of Beatles?

Answer Question

Though the association could not take any concrete shape, Isaac Asimov did have an association with a member of the band called Beatles. The association has its root in the year 1974 when a member of Beatles came to meet Asimov as he wanted Asimov to do the screenplay for a movie musical the genre of which would be science fiction. McCartney had only a vague idea about the plot of the screenplay and about a few of the dialogues. He wanted the film to be made about a musical band whose members were being impersonated by some of the people who were extraterrestrial.

Asimov worked on the idea and he produced an outline story too. But he didn't feel that the dialogues that McCartney suggested had any use in the plot and probably that made McCartney reject the idea. You can still find that outline in the archives of Boston University.
