The original home of George Washington was Washington Old Hall in Washington, Tyne and Wear. Lawrence Washington bought the Sulgrave Manor which was held by them for over a hundred years.
The Manor has beautiful gardens with lavender fields. The Herb Society has its National Herb Garden here. It also has the exhibits of its award-winning cultivations in the manor garden.
