When Was The French And Indian War Fought?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The French and Indian war was fought between France and Britain in the year 1754, with the Native Americans supporting the French.  Not only did they support the French but they also participated in the war executing from the side of the French.  It was the underlying hope of the Native Americans (since the increase of British settlers was becoming a matter of concern for them) that actually motivated them to participate in war with the French against the British that in case of a French victory, the British would be forced to relinquish the Ohio valley.

The only Native American nation who fought against the French was the mighty Iroquois nation as they had been enemies with the French since one and a half century.   The Indian and French war ended with the victory of the English while the French were forced to surrender to them despite of the support of many Native American nations.
