Not really. The devastating effect that humans are having on this planet cannot be reversed by a few thousand, or even a few million, people going "green." It may help some areas in your community, lower some pollution rates, and maybe even help save a few thousand species from extinction. But the Earth is in no immanent danger from us. It was here long before we took up tenancy, and it'll be here long after we vacate.
