What Is The Main Argument Of Michael Baigent's Book "The Jesus Papers"?

Answer Question

The book argues that Jesus did not die on the cross at all. Instead, Baigent believes that, though a crucifixion took place, Jesus survived it. Baigent claims that Jesus and Pontius Pilate conspired together to fake his death. He believes Jesus was given drugs to render him unconscious while on the cross, was taken down from the cross unusually quickly, and then was given medical care to revive him.

Baigent claims that a document existed which referred to Jesus contemporaneously in the year 45 A.D., 10 years after he is supposed to have died on the cross. He does not have the document, however, has never seen it and believes it may have been destroyed after its owner was paid off by those who wanted to cover up the truth.

Baigent also claims to have seen a document, written in Aramaic, in which Jesus admitted he was not God.
