My three year old dog came home from the vet and was her normal self. She drank lots of water and is now having dry heaves and lethargic and not acting herself. What should we do?

Contact your veterinarian to make sure no treatment done could cause lethargy and vomiting. Vaccinations can cause lethargy, soreness, excessive vomiting and diarrhea. Stress/excitement can also cause mild gastrointestinal upset. I would withhold water and food for 6-8 hours to let the stomach settle down. Then slowly introduce food and water. You can also try Pepcid to settle the stomach. The dose is 0.5 milligrams per kilogram of body weight given by mouth twice daily.
