The immune system is spread across the entire body but there are places where the cells do aggregate to form tissues. These tissues are of two types namely the central lymphoid tissue and the peripheral lymphoid tissue. The central lymphoid tissue makes up what we call the bone marrow while the peripheral lymphoid tissue constitutes the lymph node and the spleen. The lymph nodes are found at various pints in the body like neck, groin, axillae etc. The cells in the immune system are referred to as the stem cells that join to from tissues. The tissues in the bone marrow produce red and white blood cells along with the platelets. These tissues are made of different types of cells like phagocytes that filter the microorganisms form the body. B cells and T cells are also there that enter the nodes when there is the presence of some harmful organism but are not actually a part of the tissues.
