    Well it really depends who you are talking about America was fine throughout WWI, but Britian and France took quite a beating from Germany. Britain had to ration food and supplies and same with France. So life was hard for both Axis And Allies.

      World war one was a very bad place to live in. The food was raitoned, the clothes were in a "make do and mend" situation and lots and lots of men died fighting for their contry.
