What Dog Carrier Can I Use For In-cabin International Flights?

I am flying from New York (JFK) to Israel with Czech Airlines. I want to take my puppy on the flight with me, and need to know what carrier I can use for him during the flight, and whether it needs to be a cage/kennel (as opposed to a carrier such as Pet Flys pet carrier). At that time, the puppy will be almost 9 months old and will weigh between 7 and 8 lbs.
