Yes. We people do need religion to know more about each other's culture and traditions. By doing this we learn how to respect each other and treat them the right way. Does this answer you question? :)

No, We do not need religion. If you want to believe in God, have a ball! Its okay by me. But if its religion you want, then the Hell out the way!
1) Religion breeds inward hospitality and outward hostility. "Love your group hate different groups..."
2) The number one cause of war, genocides, atrocities, etc. Is Religion. Historically speaking I mean...
3) Blind submission allows others to dictate your own belief systems. "Do this 6 times and drop the money here, please... There, sins relieved..."
4) Religion devalues your life and tells you that your real life is after you die! How silly is that?!
5) Religion breeds apathy. Since you can't change the present, pray for a better after-life
Life is about living. Religion takes away that which has always been yours... Your soul, your sense of wonder and your understanding and connection with your universe (or Amen, God, Yahweh, Allah, whatever you want to call it)
Don't let the clerics of all religions dictate your life and your beliefs. Not all your friends are from the same Religion, Race, Color, etc. And for the most part they all seem sensible people who somehow are sane and not killing each other for the sake of having a good time. Now, does the entire group need to read the same scripture to figure out that with peace we can all have a good time? I think you know what I mean when I say we do not need Religion to tell us what is right or wrong, good or bad because the overall and bigger picture is that by blind submission we potentially do more harm than good. Even when we do not mean to... Funny how the same religious saying goes.... Forgive them father for they do not know what they do...

Your question is to opened ended to answer simply by saying yes or no...need more information behind what you mean by "A religion".....think about it like this if you hang around the wrong crowd you eventually become influenced the wrong way by that crowd....so by that if you look at the bible and the teachings of Jesus then if you go by the bible and Jesus and hang around or go to church merely to associate with other people that believe in the bible and Jesus' teachings then you are more likely to be influenced by good and right thinking...now that said not all practices in the church body are perfect but that is not the point of going it is to how to say this learn and show outwardly what you believe by going/showing up....studying the word/bible in order to grow/in the word learning more than one meaning for the teachings you learn as a child ....the old saying is when i was a child i spoke and thought as a child as a adult i speak and act as a adult...so yes to a certain point/degree you need religion or should i say religious practices the same as you have went to school in order to learn how to associate act out in public and learn the basics you learn the basics of the teachings of Jesus...in other words if you don't know the teachings how do you know what you are missing.....basically you are uneducated and don't know if you are on the right track to graduate/go to heaven....

Throughout history, people have had religion, and believe in it. I think that it gives hope to those who believe there is more than just the life we live now. Some people find that they don't want or need it in their lives, but others choose to have it. I think people need it in their lives, for the soul.

I think people sometimes need it more than others. It is something that will make them stop and be thankful for, the blessings of the god's goddesses or single god, however you believe makes things make sence. To have someone to answer to, to blame as well as thank for things. Some people do fine without it, others need something bigger than themselves to answer to.
