    The White House is the official residence of the President of the United States of America, it is also his principal working place which is sometimes referred to as the "Oval Office". It symbolizes American ideals of liberty and freedom and had been built between 1782 and 1800 in the late Georgian style and has ever since been the abode to several American Presidents. The first president to have taken up residence at the White House was President John Adams.
