In late 2006, he is most regularly seen as a presenter on BBC 1 Sunday morning telly. You'll known him as the gangly skinny guy with big ears, nice voice and intelligent questions; also often seen in the past covering special political stories.
Marr was born and raised in Scotland, reading English Cambridge Uni. He started his working life as a business reporter for The Scotsman in 1981, and became a parliamentary/political correspondent in 1984.
In a multi-faceted career, he has also worked for The Economist, The Independent, The Daily Express, The Daily Telegraph.
Watch out for Marr writing under the name Mr. Snuffles (his guinea pig) in The Daily Telegraph.
Marr is married to a fellow political journalist (Jackie Ashley). Recently Marr courted controversary by stating that the BBC "is not impartial or neutral. It's a publicly funded, urban organization with a abnormally large number of young people, ethnic minorities and gay people.... It has a liberal bias not so much a party-political bias. It is better expressed as a cultural liberal bias."
