What Does Lynch Mean?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The word 'lynch' is a verb and when it happens with somebody he sees the end of his life. The word is used for an act when people are angry and they attack a 'criminal'. The worst mishap that happens with the criminal is that people do not allow the trial of the criminal and they killed him by themselves. The act of killing usually happens by hanging the criminal.

But when the word 'lynch' is used as a prefix the meaning it conveys is quite different and has nothing to do with the abovementioned meaning. Lynchpin is a word that conveys the idea of the core of an organization and if you are using the word for a person who is working in a company or an organization, you are saying that the person is the most important one in that particular company.
