An 82 year old man Jimmy carter is the second oldest United States President alive today. Born in 1924, Jimmy carter was the 39th President of the United States of America and ruled from 1977 to 81. Though winning many accolades for his works at the time in office, it is indubitable that he has won the major and most important awards outside and after his time in power.
The most notable award that any person can be proud of is the Nobel peace award which he received in 2002. The accolade was in accordance to his humanitarian and his peace keeping work that he has been carrying out since post presidency.
The carter center which was established by him runs to relieve the sufferings of human beings. He largely collects his funds writing books. This has changed the perspective of him in general public after the failed presidency. Apart from this, to pay tribute to his works the US submarine has named a submarine on his name.
In addition to this at the occasion of Grammy Awards 2007, he was awarded Grammy Award for best spoken word Album. He has also been included as a honorary member alongside other ex-US presidents in the rebuilding of the World Trade Center. Many honorary degrees including a degree from Harvard University have been awarded to Jimmy Carter. Other than all this he has also received numerous awards from the 1990s in various accounts.
