Sudetenland is a region that shares its land borders with Bohemia, Moravia, and those parts of Silesia connected with Bohemia, which is a region that is located in Central Europe. It covers the western and middle thirds of the Czech Republic. It covers a total area of 52,750 km². It is surrounded by Germany to the southwest, west, and northwest, Poland to the north-east, the Czech historical region of Moravia to the east, and Austria to the south.

The name Sudetenland comes from the Sudeten Mountains, although this terrain moves beyond these mountains. In German it is known as the Sudety in Czech and Polish.

Earlier it shared it territories with the Austrian Empire. And later from 1918 to 1938 to Czechoslovakia, and then to Germany from 1938 to 1945, and then again to Czechoslovakia from 1945 until 1993 and back again to since 1993 to the Czech Republic.
