How Can I Simply And Naturally Unclog My Ears Due To The Common Cold And Air Travel?
I recently went on vacation and before I left I became sick with the common cold. Upon my arrival my right ear became to feel pressure and some pain & when I returned home the other has since join my right ear and now they are both clogged. Please advise me of any home rememdy that I can use to open up my ears again?
While traveling by air the ears can become clogged especially during landing. No medicine is needed for this. Only close your nose with your two fingers at the beginnings of nostrils and push a blow by closed mouth. This will be open. Of the eras are clogged due to cold and flu, then use antibiotics to treat this.
If the ears are blocked due to a cold or "flu", antibiotics are useless (both conditions are viral in origin). However, if secondary infection has occurred, antibiotics may be indicated. Incidentally, it it not advisable to use the Valsava technique (blowing against the closed or pinched nostrils) for a long-standing blockage. This will merely force possibly infected fluid into the middle ear; it is unlikely to force air in to equalize the pressure.
The pain/blockage caused by the rise in atmospheric pressure consequent upon aircraft descent is best prevented by yawning, as soon as any ear effect is felt. Think about yawning, watch anyone else yawning (it's contagious). Simulated yawning is nowhere near as good as real yawning, but the fomer may lead to the latter. Keep it up during descent.
