My Bird Is Stuck In A Hole And I Can't Get Him Out. What Should I Do?

My new sun conjure was out exploring and found a hole underneath two cabinets. He climbed into the hole and I can't get him out. I have tried giving him a treat to come out but nothing works. I have never own a bird before and is at my wits end. What should I do?

Your bird will definitely come out but you have to observe him closely. Enticing him on treat is a good idea. You can place his favorite food outside the whole or you need a similar bird sun conjure to invite him outside. Good Luck.

Awww, I would leave a treat out in plain sight then leave the room for awhile. Let him get brave and come out on his own then catch him. If he's been in there awhile and still wont come out, shine a light in there to check on him. Do you have a laser pen, that might entice him out. Good luck!!

First of all just leave your conjure, put a treat in front of the hole and watch, wait and most importantly: stay calm. If you get agitated and upset your conjure will probably stay hidden. If it does not come out after an hour - can you very very gently slide a broom handle down behind the bird... Your conjure won't like seeing a broom handle coming up behind it and should emerge. When it does: Block up the hole. Conjures like finding little holes to 'hide' in. Don't let this incident put you off letting it out of the cage - just be aware that birds are like little children: You have to watch them all the time and stop them from getting themselves into trouble. Also if the person/shop you brought the bird from is contactable they may come to your house to help you... Most avian pet shops are okay about making a home visits to help you out if there is a problem. Alternatively, your local animal rescue service or avian breeder might give you assistance. Remember to try and stay calm... If the bird is not stressed or upset all's well.

I would understand that the bird was into a space, say like a bird cage, that the winged prisoner could not fly from? If it has been some time that it was captive in that space get some food in there, preferably with some moisture content .

Enlarge the entrance which allowed the bird access to the space. Don't be foolish enough to put your hand into the space to retrieve the birdie, once you had enlarged it's possible escape route.
