    Joseph Vacher was born on the 16th of November in the year 1869 at Beaufort, France. He was basically a French serial killer who went on a killing spree murdering at least 11 people. He did during a three year period starting form 1894. He killed one woman, five teenage girls and five teenage boys. His father was basically an illiterate farmer and was a very strict man. As a child he was sent to strict Catholic schools. When he grew up he joined the army and fell in love with a maid servant who did not like him at all. When he was leaving the army he proposed to her to which she refuse so he shot her (to which she was badly injured but survived) and later tried taking his own life by shooting himself in the head twice. He survived with one bullet logged in his head forever and was committed to a mental institution.

    The medicine was worthless back then so he was released by the institution who termed him as cured. He then after being released started his murdering spree and was basically a drifter who used to move from town to town begging people for money and killing, raping and sodomizing young boys. He killed by stabbing his victims repeatedly. He is also known as the French Ripper inspired by the famous Jack the Ripper of England. He was caught and executed by the guillotine on the dawn of 31st of December in the year 1898.
