Persistent diarrhea and vomiting can be life threatening in dogs as it causes dehydration that can lead to death. Both diarrhea and vomiting are symptoms, not disease. Many conditions or diseases can cause diarrhea and vomiting in dogs. So, it is necessary to know the cause of this condition and on time treatment. Only vet can diagnose proper cause and offer treatment.

- Endoscopy

- Ultrasound etc.

As stated above, diarrhea and vomiting are symptoms, not disease. True they can be threating, but also can be easily explainable and redeemable. It's one possibility that it could be a diet change since after all your Yorkie is a puppy. Sometimes a simple slow diet change can help this out. Another possibility is parasites and worms, which require a simple fecal and blood test. X-rays and ultrasounds are meant to be done if there is something found to be seriously harming your dog that can't directly be identified but shouldn't be a problem if your pup is just starting these symptoms. All in all, talk to your vet and they will take the best course of action into helping your pup.
