What Happened In The 1940s?

On Dec. 7, 1941, the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor located at Oahu Island in the Hawaiian Island chain. At that time Hawaii was a possession of the United States. Franklin D. Roosevelt was President at the time and immediately asked Congress for a Declaration of War. He made one of the most famous speeches of all time. His "Day of Infamy speech. It starts out "Dec. 7, 1941 a day of infamy...". I would suggest you obtain a copy of the speech, possibly from the inter net. Also another great event took place, I was born in July of 1945.
