What Is A Background Wallpaper?

Background wallpapers are nothing but the pictorial arrangements of the desktop or the computer screen. When the screen is idle, the background wallpapers are being displayed covering the screen. The background wallpapers are active only in the graphical user interface (GUI) environments as these are the imagery representations. Higher the resolution of the screen, higher the quality of the background wallpapers.

Sometimes the background wallpapers may consist of simple patterns, instead of colourful pictures, and it is purely on the choice of the user. User has full liberty to choose his/her background wallpaper based upon his/her interest, purpose, resolution of the screen, availability of the wallpaper, etc. The GUI operating systems come with some default wallpapers to cover the monitor screen but user can collect the additional wallpapers from the third party vendors.

There are thousands of colourful wallpapers available in the market and one can collect the commercial wallpapers from there suiting his/her personal interest. Besides, the user can draw his/her wallpaper from scratch using various authoring tools or can customize the existing wallpapers according to their interest.
