    Orphenadrine is also known as Norflex ®, Disipal ®, Banflex ®, Flexon ® and it is also known by other names. It is an anticholinergic drug which belongs to the class of antihistamines, which is known as ethanolamine.

    Orphenadrine citrate is the main ingredient which is used to make Norflex ®. Orphenadrine citrate is the citrate salt of orphenadrine, which is also written as 2-dimethylaminoethyl-2-methylbenzhydryl ether citrate. Each Norflex ® extended-release tablet contains 100 milligrams of orphenadrine citrate, calcium stearate, ethylcellulose and lactose.

    Each ampul of the Norflex ® injection contains about 60 grams of orphenadrine citrate in an aqueous solution, two milligrams of sodium bisulphite NF, 5.8 milligrams of sodium chloride USP, sodium hydroxide to adjust the pH and between q.s. to about two millilitres of water for injection USP. It is a crystalline powder which is practically odourless, bitter-tasting, white in colour, sparingly soluble in water and slightly soluble in alcohol.
