CA - Return Of Security Deposit From A House Rental. Can I Sue?
I rented a house in CA 6 months ago. I wrote her a letter 30 days in advance that I purchased a house and would be moving out. When everything changed she became rude and demanded that she bring future renters in the home in the middle of my packing up to move. I went to return the keys to her and she scheduled us to move out at noon on Sunday and the new renters to move in at noon on Sunday. Leaving no time for any repairs she might want us to go. Can I sue?
Answers
Yes you can most definitely sue her as you were forced to move during the 30 days notice period. Contact your lawyer and seek legal aide, provided that you are not satisfied with the security deposit settlement.
