Fading your pair of blue jeans artificially will give you slightly different results as compared to the look of indigo-blue dye which has faded naturally over the course of time. One method of fading your blue jeans is to use a bathtub filled with roughly eight inches of water. With the help of waterproof gloves you need to pour in something between a quart to about half a gallon of bleach. The amount will depend on the extent to which you wish to fade the jeans. Bear in mind that the more bleach, the more the denim will weaken. With the help of something disposable such as a long stick, stir the bleach in meticulously, taking care not to splash.
Carefully lay your jeans in, making sure they are completely and totally flat. With the help of your tool, poke them down till they are submerged. Keep turning them after about every five minutes and lay them down flat. After a half hour, check the colour and take them out around two shades before the shade you want. Rinse three times in cold water and hang them to dry. Later use the washing machine and dryer.
