Where Is The County Of Wiltshire?

    Wiltshire is a Southerly county in England and is in an area often referred to as the West country.  

    Its nearest county neighbours are Dorset to the South and Somerset to the East.  The majot towns and cities of Wiltshire include the famous cathedral city of Salisbury.  Other towns of note with in the county are Swindon, Devizes, Westbury and Warminster.  

    Warminster is one of the countrys largest garrison towns as well as being home to Salisbury plain, one of the countrys biggest military operations area.  

    The county is mostly made up arable countryside and is considered an area of natural beauty.  National trust places of interest include King Alfreds tower, a medieval watching tower built nearly one thousanf years ago and the close by Stourhead house and gardens.  

    The county is also home to one of the nations most famous attractions, Stonehenge.  Visitors come from all over the world to see the stone circle.
