How Do I Get My Deposit Back, If Possible?

I viewed an apartment that was vacant, loved it, and found out that it was rented out to another person that day. I was told by the property management that another one identical was coming available soon, and others were interested, so I needed to put down a deposit. I did, not having seen it. Didn't see the inside until they handed over the keys move in day and it was disgusting. Health hazard! I want my deposit back, and want out but they will not give it back. Said I signed something that allows them to keep it.

Definitely, if you signed a lease agreement that means you have agreed on all the terms and conditions and have taken the apartment in its present form. The fault is yours, you should not have taken the apartment without first seeing it.
