    Windows 2000 and Windows NT operating systems are extremely well built, powerful, secure, and popular and are designed specifically for businesses and high end environments. But Windows 2000 is a lot more than just a simple upgrade. Windows 2000 is almost a rewrite of the Windows NT OS, with hundreds of new features and fixes.
    Windows NT is an older operating system while Windows 2000 is a later version of the same. However, Windows 2000 is not just a simple upgrade, there are many new features of windows 2000 over windows NT.

    Many different versions of Windows 2000 have been released. Windows 2000 Professional works on a desktop in place of windows NT or Windows 95/98. It has the ability to support 2 processors and multiple monitors, while Windows 2000 Server can support 4 processors, Windows 2000 Advanced Server can support 8 processors and Windows 2000 DataCenter Server can support up to 32 processors.

    Some of the new features of Windows 2000 are :
    1.Plug and play support.
    2.Keberos 5 security protocol.
    3.FAT32 support - A file allocation table operating system that supports larger disk partition size than older FAT filesystems.
    4.EFS - Encrypting File System support.
    5.Internet Explorer version 5 with XML support and Outlook Express version 5.
    6.Additional control panel power options.
    7.Can support up to 10 displays simultaneously.
